Amazing True Crime Podcast!
As a lifelong NC girl, it warms my heart to see some fellow NC ladies create such an amazing true crime podcast. I get so excited when I see new episodes based in north carolina. Top notch story telling and excellent banter. Keep up the good work!
Just an NC girl, living in a True Crime World
I LOVE this podcast. As a born and bto toar Heel girl, hearing the cases that took place here really pull me in and I feel like I am there. I love hearing the cases from surrounding states as well, it’s fascinating the way they tell the stories to each other and Curtis’ intros and outros are EVERYTHING!!!
I look forward to to having my morning coffee with y’all!

Mayberry's Dark Day: The 1951 Mt. Airy Bombing
I really enjoyed this episode. I thought that I knew a lot of the history of Mount Airy, North Carolina. But, I was not aware of this story. I downloaded it to keep with all of my many own memories/stories/articles.

Excellent stories and presentations.
I’ve listen to parts of podcasts on YouTube. Never subscribed until now. I’m from Forsyth county. I enjoyed the most recent story about the death of a young woman and execution of her killer in Winston Salem.

Great Storytelling!
I have enjoyed listening to this podcast! The storytelling, along with local and national news items, provide interesting and thoughtful commentary and insight into situations that are often filled with sadness and difficulties. Melody and Darlene also include good questions to consider, even when the answers seem obvious. Intriguing music and fun twists through the opening introduction and conclusion to each episode!
All around amazing podcast!
The opener, the music, and the story’s telling is amazing!! This is hands down my favorite podcast!

I have always been a huge true crime fan! I listened to Crime Junkies for a long long time but they became so overrun with ads, I just had to move on to something else. I heard about y’all from a guest that comes in where I work, I thought why not… I needed something new. I was born and raised in Asheboro NC!! You guys give me a Crime Junkie vibes in all the best ways! The chatting between two southern moms, the way y’all tell the stories. It’s awesome! I normally don’t leave reviews, I like telling people things through word of mouth. I told my mama about y’all, I told my friends, I told coworkers. I love this! I’m almost done with all the episodes and I’m gonna have to wait a week now… I listen to the stories when I have down time at work. Keep doing what you’re doing!

I love everything about this podcast. The true crime genre is trending right now and this is the best one. So homespun and soothing. How in the world can listening to murder tales be soothing? Those voices!

Great for the Commute
I have really enjoyed listening to the Hard Times and True Crimes podcasts on my drives to and from work. I occasionally have to take a detour to give an episode time to finish! I really appreciate the conversational/story-telling format and think it a great way to learn about little-known cases or to get a fresh perspective on famous (infamous) ones. Keep up the good work Darlene and Melody!

Entertaining and informative
The title says it all, hard times and true crimes. I love that these ladies present you with the facts and the rumors and leave the conclusion up to you. Some of these stories are local to my area so I have heard about them before but I still learned something new from the podcast. Thanks ladies! Great job!

The true crime stories are very interesting. Darlene and Melody do a fantastic job of presenting the details and facts of these historical stories. The opening storyteller does an amazing job as well!

Just listened to episode 1. I am a NC native, but had never heard this story before, and I did not know there was a town in NC named "Lawsonville".
I am very curious about the song. I am glad you quoted one of the verses. Do you know of any recordings of the song?
Any evidence that Arthur's accident at age 32 could have been suicide?
So sad. Looking forward to more episodes.

Best murder podcast ever!
I love this podcast! Darlene and Melody do a great job of adding a little extra history to the story to help you understand what it was like for the people involved without get way off topic!
The man doing the intros has one of those voices you could listen to all day long, like James Earl Jones or Morgan Freeman! I would definitely recommend this podcast to anybody who likes murder mysteries! What is
